Is the new old word

Which is on everyone's lips

Republics we all want to be !

In the Caribbean it is to be free of the Queen as the head of state

And finally being able to carve their own path

For the USA it is for trump to finally hush his arse

As they cannot stomach any more of his negative remarks

Republic

Republicanism

Who would have thought in 2015

We are still discussing the word republic and all of its off spring which are fuelled with aristrocrats

These aristocrats pretend to care about social issues

But really they don't care

They just want to generate wealth

And be heard

Aristocrats care very little about man kind

That is my opinion

May not mean much to you

But after all I am the person weilding the pen to write this poem

Anyways.....

Republic in Barbados represents Trinidad

As our local bank has been renamed the Republic Bank

And republic also is Massy waving the Trinidadian flag in our face

Saying let's capitalize on this market while it is hot

I hate cliches but this one is fitting

To be or not to be ...

A republic

Republican

Or to embrace republicanism

Or to be free of the Queen

What shall be is ought to be

As this new old word shall pick up the pace

And we all shall look at the word in awe

As we are all the new
